STIFFS | UK '70s punk
STIFFS formed in BlackBurn, Lancashire in 1976 by Ian Barnes and Phil Hendriks that were just two fourteen year old boys when they linked up with Tommy O'kane and Mark Young to form a band. In 1978 their recorded a 7 cut demo and the best three songs were used for their first self produced released, the "brookside riot squad" ep. After another self produced single for their own label dork, they signed in 1980 by Emi subsidiary Zonophone that reissue their second single " Inside out/kids in the street" . In 1981 another great single for emi "volume control/nothing to lose" but the label decided do not issued their third singles ( now reissue by snaps music) and the band realize a one-off 45 with Stiff Records. They split up in 1981 but reformed in 1982 and played a John Peel session. In 1985 another reunion and they realize a 12" single for Dark records. Stiffs continue tours across europe and japan with their full energy punk rock
